Sofía · #17
Friendly, helpful, persevering. Her own three words.

Biography
Sofía Calderón was born in 2012 in Cartago, Costa Rica. At 7, her father took her to an Automóvil Club de Costa Rica scholarship in the Star of Tomorrow category: the first time she sat in a racing kart. At 11 she earned her first racing licence, in Mini ROK. Since then she has won titles in Costa Rica, in Panama and at Latin American level, and in 2025 she moved up to car racing, where she now races against adult drivers.
Her roots
From Cartago, Sofía has built her career across karting and car racing. Her titles in Costa Rica, Panama and at Latin American level, together with her first GT-category win in 2026, reflect what young talent can achieve with preparation, perseverance and support. As a young Costa Rican female driver, her journey brings visibility to women's participation in the sport and to opportunities for new generations of drivers.
